Bird's Grief
A little sketch that was inspired by my friend, Maria Gaudin's IPIAT (Integrative Project in the Arts and Theology) on the topic of Life Among the Deadwood: Embodying Grief Through Visual Lament

Tokyo Travel Journal (Full Ver.)
A while ago I posted a teaser image of a travel journal that I created for my trip to Tokyo and here are the inner pages! Unfortunately I had to blur the texts because they contain too much personal thoughts and comments. :P I hope everyone will still enjoy my first ever hand-illustrated travel journal though!

Brown Leghorn Rooster
This small sketch (11" x 8.5") took me almost a month to complete because of how complicated the feathers were. I still want to make them look better but my eyes decide to give up so I guess I'll leave it at that!
(P.S. This might sound ridiculous, but this is actually my first time painting a spread in my sketchbook! LOL)

Lilac-Breasted Roller
Can't believe it has been eight years since I last painted on a canvas!

Shepherd and His Sheep
A friend recently gave birth to a girl and I did this little drawing to congratulate them and for decorating their newborn daughter's room. :)

Snowflakes
Last month I was invited by a friend, Karl Sanden, to create a cover art for his new song, Snowflakes. It's a cute jazzy tune about the experience of gently falling snowflakes. You may listen and download the track here: https://karlsanden.bandcamp.com/track/snowflakes-single

Kingfisher Bird
Saw one of my students painting a kingfisher today so I thought I would give it a try as well (except hers was acrylic and mine gouache). I also challenged myself to finish this painting under an hour but it ended up took me an hour and half. I find that I make better paintings when I'm under the pressure of time/ deadline because it forces me to make more accurate observation and quicker decisions. (It also gives the illusion of high productivity. :P)

Gestures
I've noticed that I have a habit of touching/ covering my lips (especially when I'm thinking or daydreaming) so I thought it would be fun to do a series of drawings depicting myself making this gesture.
